Dhammika Ranatunga Issued Notice To Appear In Court Over Death Threat To Journalist

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today issued notice to Sri Lanka Ports Authority Chairman Dhammika Ranatunga to appear in court on March 24 for an alleged death threat to a journalist.

The Magistrate issued notice after considering a request by the Keselwatte Police.

Police filed a facts report today with the Magistrate regarding the incident, based on their preliminary investigations. The investigations were launched considering a complaint by SLRC journalist Subramaniam Gunaratnam.

Dhammika Ranatunga has been made a suspect in the case.

The said incident occurred yesterday outside the Colombo High Court.
