Last Minute Try Gives Sri Lanka Memorable Win Over Philippines At Asia Rugby Championship

Jeson Dissanayake’s last-minute try gave Sri Lanka a memorable 25-21 win over Philippines in their Asian Rugby Championship 2016 Division 1 encounter at Royal Selangor Stadium in Kuala Lampur on Saturday evening.

After leading by 20 points to 11 in the first half, Sri Lanka found themselves trailing by a solitary point until the 79th minute when flanker cum winger Jeson Dissanayake scored a diving try in the far corner to give their second win of the tournament.

Sri Lanka won their opening game against Singapore 33-17 but were later defeated by the hosts Malaysia 17-42.
