President Visits Aranayake As 134 People Are Still Thought To Be Missing

President Maithripala Sirisena visited the area in Aranayake where the landslide occurred last evening.

"Priority is to look for people who are missing, will provide all support as a Government" President Sirisena told BBC Sandeshaya.

The welfare of the displaced people will be also taken care of by the government, he added.

By this afternoon, 14 bodies had been found from the site of the landslide.

Meanwhile, the officer in charge of the rescue missions, Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, said that 134 people are believed to be still missing.
