Thajudeen Murder Case: CID Questions Former PSD Personnel Close To Former VIPs

The CID has questioned a former PSD member close to former VIPs regarding the murder of former Havelock's captain Wasim Thajudeen, CID told court today.

This was informed to the Colombo Magistrate Courts when the case was heard before Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris. A staff sergeant named Nagahawatte, who was serving in the PSD under former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was extensively questioned, it was also informed.

Former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake and former Narahenpita Crimes OIC Sumith Perera, who are in remand custody over the case, were further remanded till August 3. They informed court that they have filed bail applications with the Colombo High Court.

The Additional Magistrate had earlier directed that he does not have jurisdiction to grant bail to the two suspects.
