New Lesson For People Who Abandon Their Parents

Laws should be brought to confiscate the wealth of the elders who are left on the road by the family or relatives said Minister S.B. Dissanayaka.

Once elders who are left on the roads die at elders homes the relatives come to claim the wealth which has caused many problems.

Though family and relatives of elders who are left on the road do not even come to see them, once they die they come to claim their wealth and this is very high in the Western province said the welfare officers.

Minister said that if such an elder is found a picture with details should be published in the newspaper, and in the event relatives don’t come, laws should be enacted to ensure that such relatives cannot claim the wealth even at the time of death.
