Former President JR Jayawardene gave money to Mahinda Rajapaksa and former SLFP Deputy Leader Maithripala Senanayake to divide the SLFP, former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga said today.

She made this allegation at a meeting in Yakkala.

She challenged Rajapaksa to take legal action against her for making this statement, saying that she has receipts to prove her case.

Kumaratunga also said that Rajapaksa was making a serious attempt at dividing the party again. She went on to say that anyone who wants to leave can leave, since the people voted to eject the Rajapaksas.
