A conditional order was issued against Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera yesterday, preventing him from using loudspeakers at the Alan Mathiniyarama Temple in Polhengoda between 5 a.m. to 6 a.m.

This was issued by Colombo Additional Magistrate Dulani Amarasinghe after considering a plaint by six parties including Milinda Moragoda and other residents.

The plaintiffs informed court that the use of loudspeakers caused public nuisance and air pollution.

The plaintiffs also said that they sought court intervention because the police was not taking action despite several complaints.

Dhammaloka Thera was issued notice to appear in court on December 16.
