Only Uninhabited Land For Industrial Zone: Minister Amaraweera

Mahinda Amaraweeraල Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development refused claims suggesting 15,000 acres of occupied land will be used for the establishment of an industrial zone in Hambantota.

Speaking at a media briefing  Minister Amaraweera said land used for the industrial zone is uninhabited.

Minister further said the industrial zone in Hambantota once completed will bring forward many investment opportunities for the country adding certain political factions are attempting to disrupt progress in the region.

The construction of the industrial zone in Hambantota is due to commence on the 7th of January 2017.
