Eight Liberated Sri Lankan Youths Set to Return Home Today

Eight Sri Lankan youths, recently freed from captivity in a Myanmar enclave controlled by an armed faction along the Thai border, are expected to arrive in Sri Lanka today. They are scheduled to land at Katunayake International Airport via a SriLankan Airlines flight at 9:35 AM. Janaka Bandara, the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Myanmar, has confirmed ongoing efforts to secure the release of the remaining 48 individuals still held captive. The youths were reportedly coerced into participating in illicit cyber activities while in captivity.
