Keheliya Rambukwella Released On Bail In Rupavahini Tender Scam Case

Former Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and two others were released on bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya this morning in the court case on the alleged tender scam at Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation.

The Bribery Commission filed a case on April 22 at the Colombo Magistrate’s Court against Keheliya Rambukwella, former SLRC Chairman Wimal Rubasinghe and former SLRC Director General Chandrapala Liyanage.

The complaint said that the SLRC incurred a loss of Rs. 990,000 as a result of the purchase of 600 GI pipes. The Chief Magistrate issued notice on the former Minister and the two others to appear in court on May 20.
