Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) extends its support to the rally scheduled for 21 November, organised by several opposition parties, but will not participate in the rally itself, MP Prasad Siriwardana said at a media briefing today (9).

He said the SJB agrees with the broader objectives of the protest, noting that every political party has its own identity and perspective when approaching national issues. Because of this, there are areas where the SJB can collaborate and areas where it cannot, he said.

Siriwardana added that according to the core principles of the SJB, the party is unable to take part in the 21 November rally. However, he stressed that this does not mean the SJB will refrain from supporting or working with the wider Opposition.

“We join and work together wherever possible,” he said.
