Singer Thilanka Vidusha, alias “Chillie”, has been found guilty of obstructing Police officers in the performance of their duties, intimidating them and attempting to assault them during a dengue prevention inspection in 2014.

Kaduwela Magistrate Aruna Indrajith yesterday imposed a fine of Rs. 6,000 on the singer and ordered him to pay Rs. 10,000 each as compensation to the two Police officers involved in the incident.

The charges stemmed from an incident at the singer’s premises in Thalangama, where he allegedly threatened and intimidated Police officers who had arrived to conduct an inspection as part of a dengue prevention campaign in 2014.

The case had been pending before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court for approximately 12 years, during which the accused had remained on bail.
