President Dissanayake to Embark on Four-Day State Visit to China This Evening

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to leave the country this evening (13 January) for a four-day state visit to the People’s Republic of China, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The visit, spanning from 14 to 17 January, will include discussions with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and other senior Chinese officials, aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The agenda focuses on key areas such as technology, agriculture, and poverty alleviation. President Dissanayake is also expected to visit strategic facilities and participate in high-level business forums to foster economic collaboration and explore investment opportunities.

During the visit, several bilateral agreements will be signed to deepen mutual understanding and cooperation between Sri Lanka and China, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.

This is President Dissanayake’s second international state visit since taking office.
