A Senior Assistant Secretary attached to the Presidential Secretariat has been arrested yesterday (26) by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), police said.
The suspect, a 41-year-old resident of Kandy, serves as a Senior Assistant Secretary in the Parliament and Cabinet Division of the Presidential Secretariat.
Police said the arrest was made by the Homicide and Organised Crime Investigation Division of the CCIB as part of an ongoing investigation.
The suspect had previously served as the Deputy Controller of the Foreign Missions Division of the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
