The President’s Media Division has issued a statement regarding social media reports on the sale of vehicles owned by the Presidential Secretariat through a tender process.

The statement clarifies that the news being circulated on social media is false and baseless. It further notes that complaints have already been lodged with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) against these false reports.

According to the President’s Media Division, the sale of vehicles was carried out following the standard government open tender procedure. A newspaper advertisement calling for tenders was published in accordance with the established process on 23 April 2025.

A total of 108 applicants who paid and obtained tender forms submitted their bids by the closing date of 15 May 2025. The tenders were opened at 11.00 a.m. on the same day, and the vehicle sales were conducted according to the stipulated tender process.

The statement also notes that vehicles were sold only to bidders who offered prices exceeding the government’s estimated value. Since some vehicles did not receive bids above the government valuation, only 17 out of the 26 vehicles offered were actually sold.
