The Asian Paints Causeway Walawa Supercross 2025 roared back into action as one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic motor racing spectacles, making a triumphant return after a five-year hiatus.

Revived with thrilling races, standout victories, and record-breaking crowds, the event was powered by the title sponsorship of Asian Paints Causeway – Sri Lanka’s No. 1 auto refinish coatings brand.

Held over the weekend of 12 and 13 July at the iconic Craftsman Autodrome in Sevanagala, the 10th edition of Walawa Supercross attracted over 50,000 enthusiastic spectators. The event delivered on every front – featuring 21 adrenaline-fuelled races, enhanced safety infrastructure, and a renewed spirit of community, competition, and innovation.

The spotlight shone brightly on Ashan Silva, one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated racing champions and long-standing brand ambassador for Asian Paints Causeway, who clinched the SL-GT 3500 main event, adding yet another title to his storied career.

“This weekend was more than a race – it was a revival,” said Vaithilingam Kiritharan, Country Head of Asian Paints Causeway – Sri Lanka. “We are incredibly proud to have powered this chapter in Sri Lankan motorsport. Our continued sponsorship reflects our deep commitment to the island’s auto industry – from advanced coatings to motorsports and technical education. Together with our partners and the motorsport community, we’re helping drive both performance and progress.”

Asian Paints Causeway’s involvement in the Walawa Supercross is part of a broader strategy to uplift the local automotive industry. From its trusted Auto Finish coatings range to partnerships with institutions like the Vocational Training Authority (VTA), the company is actively investing in skills development, quality enhancement, and long-term industry growth.

As a member of the Asian Paints Group – one of Asia’s largest and most respected paint companies – Asian Paints Causeway brings to Sri Lanka a legacy spanning over 80 years, across 15 countries, with state-of-the-art R&D, globally benchmarked manufacturing standards, and a diverse product portfolio covering automotive, decorative, industrial, and protective coatings.

Its Auto Refinish solutions are recognised for their exceptional durability, precision finish, and cutting-edge innovation – helping workshops, garages, and industry professionals deliver world-class results.

The Walawa Supercross 2025 will be remembered not only for its thrilling races but also as a powerful symbol of resilience, partnership, and shared passion. Asian Paints Causeway is proud to have played a key role in this historic return – and remains steadfast in its mission to fuel the future of Sri Lanka’s automotive excellence.
