Evolution Auto, Sri Lanka’s leading electric mobility provider, made a landmark move in the country’s transportation sector today by unveiling the most extensive portfolio of electric vehicles (EVs) ever showcased in Sri Lanka at Motorshow 2025, held at the BMICH.

The unveiling featured seven all-new EV models across five globally renowned brands, cementing Evolution Auto’s role at the forefront of the nation’s transition to clean and intelligent transportation. The diverse lineup includes two-wheelers, three-wheelers, commercial vans, lifestyle pickups, and luxury passenger vehicles—reflecting the company’s strategic push to offer electric mobility solutions across all user segments.

Evolution Auto’s luxury passenger EV debut included vehicles from AVATR, XPENG, IM Motors, Riddara by Geely, and KYC. Each model integrates cutting-edge performance, intelligent design, and next-generation technology, embodying the company’s mission to make advanced electric mobility accessible and appealing to a broad range of consumers.

Among the standout models was the AVATR-11, a premium SUV co-developed by Changan, Huawei, and CATL, offering sleek design, smart integration, and high-end features. The XPENG G6, now available in over 60 countries, was introduced as Sri Lanka’s most powerful EV with a 190 kW motor, achieving 0–100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds. It was developed in collaboration with XPENG, Volkswagen, Foxconn, and Alibaba.

Also showcased were the IM5 Intelligent Gran Coupe and IM6 Intelligent Grand SUV from IM Motors (a brand under SAIC Motor, known for MG, Chevrolet, and GM joint ventures). These vehicles feature AI-assisted functionalities such as Crab Mode, Rainy Night Mode, and dynamic driver interfaces.

Evolution Auto also introduced the Riddara RD6—Sri Lanka’s first Performance Lifestyle Vehicle (PLV) by Geely Holding Group—designed to merge SUV-level comfort with genuine off-road capabilities. It features an 815 mm water-wading depth and a 540° camera system, setting new standards for lifestyle pickups in the local market.

For the commercial segment, KYC’s V5 and V7 electric vans were revealed, offering 9-seater options powered by high-efficiency CATL batteries, delivering superior range and efficiency, ideal for both fleet operators and personal users.

All vehicles come with up to 8 years’ battery warranty, 5 years’ vehicle warranty, and a comprehensive 5-year/100,000 km maintenance package, showcasing Evolution Auto’s commitment to long-term ownership value and customer confidence.

“This marks a defining moment in Sri Lanka’s journey toward sustainable and technologically advanced mobility,” said Virann De Zoysa, CEO of Evolution Auto Group. “With the launch of seven EV models from five global brands, we’re not only introducing new vehicles but reshaping expectations, building confidence in EV adoption, and setting new standards in mobility.”

Ashan Wickramasinghe, Head of Marketing at Evolution Auto, added: “Our goal is to offer a complete ownership experience—from immersive showrooms to long-term aftercare. Every model has been handpicked to deliver a unique combination of design, performance, and intelligent tech. This is innovation you can trust and mobility that’s future-ready.”

In line with its expanding portfolio, Evolution Auto is rapidly growing its national presence. A flagship showroom will soon open on Duplication Road, with additional display locations at Havelock City Atrium and a dedicated KYC showroom in Peliyagoda.

A new multi-brand EV workshop complex in Peliyagoda will provide specialised diagnostics, maintenance, and aftersales services for all associated EV brands. The company has also partnered with Sterling Aftercare to offer nationwide service and support.

Evolution Auto’s growing presence across Kurunegala, Kandy, and Matara further reinforces its vision of making reliable electric mobility accessible island-wide.
