Three Dead in Hatton-Kandy Road Bus Accident

The death toll from the passenger bus accident on the Hatton–Kandy main road has risen to three, the Police Media Spokesman confirmed. The latest victim succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

The tragic incident occurred in Mallawaappu when a private passenger bus veered off the road and plunged down a precipice. At the time of the accident, the bus was carrying 25 passengers traveling from Hatton to Kandy.

In addition to the three fatalities, 22 people remain hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries. Authorities are continuing their investigations into the cause of the accident
