Social media users have reported that the official website of the Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs has become inaccessible, with an allegedly distorted version of the State Emblem displayed on the site.

The ministry’s website (https://pubsec.gov.lk/) is currently inactive. Visitors to the site are shown a notice stating that it is temporarily unavailable and advising the public to direct inquiries to the telephone number or email address provided.

However, social media users have drawn particular attention to what they describe as an altered State Emblem displayed on the inactive page. According to these reports, the lion traditionally featured at the centre of the emblem appears to have been replaced by an unidentifiable animal.

In addition, the sun and moon symbols positioned on either side of the State Emblem are also said to be distorted to the extent that they are difficult to recognise.

As of now, no official explanation has been issued regarding the website’s status or the reported alteration of the State Emblem.
