Samudika Jayaratne Assumes Office as Sri Lanka’s First Female Auditor General

Samudika Jayaratne assumed duties today (05) as Sri Lanka’s new Auditor General, becoming the first woman to hold the country’s top auditing post.

She took office at the National Audit Office as the 42nd Auditor General of Sri Lanka.

Speaking to the media after assuming duties, Jayaratne said she was committed to strengthening accountability and transparency in public financial management.

Jayaratne began her career at the Auditor General’s Department in 2003 and brings extensive experience in public sector auditing and financial management. Her expertise spans banking and finance, insurance, taxation, treasury operations, and debt management.
