A bag containing approximately Rs. 30.5 million in cash was allegedly snatched by an unidentified individual outside a state bank branch in Horana while the money was being prepared for loading into an Automated Teller Machine (ATM), Police said.
According to Police, the incident occurred at around 2:55 p.m. today (3) when a bank employee was carrying two bags of cash through the rear entrance of the bank.
At that point, an individual reportedly approached, forcibly grabbed one of the bags containing cash, and fled the area.
Police said the identity of the suspect has yet to be established and further investigations are underway.
