Media professional Hoshiya Anojan, who began her career as a child artiste, has progressed to a leadership role in Sri Lanka’s broadcasting industry.

Originally from Jaffna, Anojan first appeared in the Sinhala teledrama Manawa Waarana on the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation and later acted in productions including Sudhu Kapuru Pethi and the Tamil drama series Nijaththin Nizhal on Shakthi TV.

She later built a career as a voice-over artiste, narrating Tamil television commercials, before moving into radio broadcasting at Shakthi FM. Anojan subsequently worked as a television presenter and news anchor on Shakthi TV.

Over time, she transitioned into media management and strategy, eventually serving as Channel Head of Tamil FM from 2021 to 2025, where she oversaw programming and advertiser relations during a challenging economic period for the media industry.
