Gold and silver prices rose significantly today (06), driven by economic pressures in the international market and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

According to latest reports, the price of gold has increased to USD 4,625.24 per ounce, while silver has risen to USD 74.93 per ounce.

Although gold prices in the local market have fluctuated in recent days, market sources indicate that the current upward trend in the global market is likely to push prices higher in Sri Lanka as well.

The strengthening of the US dollar and shifts in the global geopolitical landscape are cited as key factors contributing to the price increase.
