Asia Asset Finance PLC, through its sustainability and community impact initiative “Hetata Athak,” has extended support to Kishani from Kayts, who secured first place in the Jaffna District and ranked 27th islandwide in the G.C.E. Advanced Level Biotechnology stream.
As part of the initiative, the company donated a new laptop to support the student’s future educational journey, recognising her academic achievement and contribution to excellence in education.
Commenting on the initiative, Head of Sustainability at Asia Asset Finance PLC Yuveni Diaz said the programme aims to create “meaningful, practical, and long-lasting” impact through community-focused initiatives.
“Supporting Kishani is not only about recognising an outstanding academic achievement, but also about enabling access to opportunity. When we empower a young person with the right tools, we are investing in a future that can uplift families, communities, and the country as a whole,” Diaz said.
The “Hetata Atak” initiative, which initially focused on promoting environmental responsibility, has since expanded into broader areas including education, community wellbeing, social empowerment, and sustainability-related projects.
The company noted that supporting students from areas outside major urban centres reflects the importance of creating opportunities for talented young people across the country.
Asia Asset Finance stated that access to technology remains essential in helping students pursue higher education and future ambitions in an increasingly digital and knowledge-driven environment.
Backed by more than 55 years of operations, over 100 branches islandwide, and the support of India-based Muthoot Finance, the company said it remains committed to initiatives focused on sustainable community impact and educational empowerment.
