Anuradhapura Atamasthanadhipathi Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Thera, who had been receiving treatment at the National Hospital while in remand custody over allegations of the aggravated sexual abuse of a minor girl, was transferred to the Prison Hospital yesterday (21 May).
The suspect Thera, who had earlier been arrested by the Gampaha Division Police Children and Women Bureau, had been remanded until today (22 May) and is scheduled to be produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court today.
