B.K. Prabath Chandrakeerthi officially assumed duties as the Chairman of the Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT) on 2 January 2025 at its Head Office.

As the current Secretary to the Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure, Chandrakeerthi brings extensive experience and a proven track record of leadership across various government organisations. His appointment is expected to strengthen PHDT’s mission to improve the quality of life for plantation workers by addressing critical areas such as housing, healthcare, and education.

In his address during the assumption of duties, Chandrakeerthi emphasised his commitment to launching impactful initiatives and fostering collaboration with stakeholders to uplift plantation communities.

The event was attended by the Director General, Head Office Directors, and staff, who warmly welcomed the new Chairman. They expressed their confidence in his ability to lead the organisation toward greater achievements.
