The entire Grade 11 term test in the North Central Province was suspended after all question papers were leaked on social media.

The Sinhala Literature exam was halted on 6 January, and investigations revealed that several question papers had been shared by tuition masters in WhatsApp groups. Following this discovery, education authorities decided to suspend the entire term test.

The Ministry of Education in the North Central Province announced that revised term tests for the affected subjects would be conducted within 10 days. Secretary Sirimewan Dharmasena confirmed that the leaked question papers would be restructured.

Meanwhile, the Anuradhapura Division Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the probe into the leaks on the advice of the Senior Superintendent of Police in Anuradhapura.

The Provincial Education Department filed two complaints with the Anuradhapura Police on 6 January, reporting missing question papers.

The Ministry of Education has stated that an investigation team will be appointed to further examine the incident.
