In a powerful initiative during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Asia Asset Finance PLC, in partnership with Hatton Tea Plantations, organized a deeply impactful CSR event in Hatton to raise awareness about breast cancer among tea estate workers. The event, attended by over 500 tea estate workers, focused on educating women about breast cancer detection, symptoms, and prevention.

Healthcare professionals from the local hospital led the sessions, providing essential information to women who often lack access to healthcare. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Sri Lanka, with around 4,000 new cases diagnosed annually. In rural areas, however, many cases go undetected due to limited healthcare access. Recognizing this critical gap, Asia Asset Finance stepped in to provide life-saving awareness and education, bringing hope and empowerment to a community that forms the backbone of Sri Lanka’s tea industry.

Yuveni Dias, Head of CSR at Asia Asset Finance PLC, emphasized the company’s commitment to women’s empowerment and community well-being:

“Supporting the health and well-being of women in our communities is not just a responsibility; it is a commitment we hold deeply at Asia Asset Finance. By raising awareness and educating women, we aim to empower them to take control of their health. Every woman deserves the knowledge and tools to protect herself, and we are honored to play a part in that.”

This initiative is part of Asia Asset Finance’s broader vision of female empowerment, extending beyond financial services to genuinely support the communities it serves. By providing critical health education to women who often lack access to such resources, the company is helping to transform lives and create lasting change.

The event not only educated but also inspired the participants, leaving a positive and lasting impact. Through this and other initiatives, Asia Asset Finance continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to social responsibility, ensuring that the women of Sri Lanka feel empowered, informed, and supported.
