Commemorating the spirit of Vesak, SLT-MOBITEL hosted a comprehensive Health Camp during the first week of May 2025 at the SLT-MOBITEL Regional Office in Gampaha, offering essential healthcare services to over 350 residents from surrounding communities. The initiative was conducted under the company’s ‘Sambandiyawe Dahami Sathkaraya’ programme and aligns with its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments.

SLT-MOBITEL partnered with eChannelling, Sethma Hospitals, J.A. Wimalasooriya Opticians, and Parampara incense sticks to provide a wide range of free medical services, including diabetes screening, electrocardiograms (ECGs), eye check-ups, blood pressure monitoring, nutritional advice, and general medical consultations.

Qualified healthcare professionals were available throughout the day from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering personalised medical advice and conducting thorough examinations. The event catered to residents from Miriswaththa, Yakkala, Udugampola, Makevita, Balummahara, Ganemulla, and Gampaha city, many of whom have limited access to regular healthcare services.

To extend the benefits beyond the physical event, SLT-MOBITEL also facilitated digital access to healthcare through eChannelling. Three doctors were available for online consultations on the same day, allowing citizens to connect with medical professionals from the comfort of their homes. Participation in the health camp required pre-registration via the eChannelling app to ensure efficient and convenient service delivery.

These initiatives reflect SLT-MOBITEL’s ongoing commitment to meaningful community engagement and its mission to promote wellness among citizens. By combining traditional in-person consultations with digital healthcare access, SLT-MOBITEL is ensuring that essential medical services reach as many people as possible.

The event also formed part of SLT-MOBITEL’s broader pledge to corporate social responsibility and community wellbeing—demonstrating how innovative technology and healthcare can converge to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives.
