‘Teacher Amma’ Delivers Low Blow, Now on the Run as Police Launch Manhunt

Police have launched an investigation to arrest popular tuition teacher Hayeshika Fernando, widely known as ‘Teacher Amma’, following an alleged assault on a young man.

Fernando is accused of kicking the youth in the groin, resulting in injuries to his testicles. The victim was subsequently admitted to the Negombo Hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, Hayeshika Fernando reportedly fled the area. However, her husband and her manager have been taken into custody by the Katana Police.

After being produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court, the two suspects were remanded until the 14th of this month, as per the order of the Chief Magistrate.

The Magistrate has also instructed the Katana Police to carry out further investigations and to arrest and produce the main suspect, Hayeshika Fernando, in court.
