Safety Belts Made Mandatory for All Passenger Bus Drivers from July 1

All passenger bus drivers, including those operating Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses, will be required to wear safety belts from 1 July, National Transport Board Chairman P. A. Chandrapala announced today.

Speaking at a media briefing, Chandrapala said the decision was made to enhance passenger safety and bring Sri Lanka’s road safety practices in line with international standards.
