Asian Paints Causeway, Sri Lanka’s leading auto refinish coatings company, has announced its role as the title sponsor of the Asian Paints Causeway SLADA Racing Championship 2025 – a series of four national racing events running from August to November.

After years of disruptions caused by national tragedies, the pandemic, and economic challenges, this year’s championship marks a strong comeback for the sport. Organized by the Sri Lanka Autosports Drivers Association (SLADA) in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Air Force, the series will see the nation’s top drivers and riders compete on both gravel and tarmac tracks.

Championship calendar:

  • 16–17 August – Rotherham Katukurunda Circuit, Meet 1
  • 30–31 August – Gajaba/SLADA Supercross, Saliyapura
  • 4–5 October – Gunner/SLADA Supercross, Minneriya
  • 1–2 November – Rotherham Katukurunda Circuit, Meet 2

Sri Lankan champion and Asian Paints Causeway brand ambassador Ashan Silva said the championship is “a boost for motor racers in the country” and “a dream come true for competitors who grew up watching iconic meets such as the Gajaba and Gunner Supercross.”

Vaithilingam Kiritharan, Country Head of Asian Paints Causeway – Sri Lanka, said: “We are delighted to partner with SLADA in bringing back one of the most anticipated racing series in the country. Motorsport in Sri Lanka is not just a sport—it is a platform that drives innovation, skill, and community spirit. As the market leader in automotive coatings, we support initiatives that strengthen both the sport and the wider automotive industry.”

Asian Paints Causeway’s involvement in motorsport is part of a long-term strategy to develop Sri Lanka’s automotive industry. The brand also invests in skills development through its partnership with the Vocational Training Authority, nurturing the next generation of professionals.

With 21 tarmac and 23 gravel events planned this season, and strong support from spectators, competitors, and media, the SLADA Racing Championship 2025 promises to be a high-octane celebration of speed, skill, and resilience.
