Public consultations on the proposed electricity tariff revision will begin today (18), the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) announced.
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has proposed a 6.8% increase in electricity tariffs for the final quarter of 2025. In line with its regulatory process, the PUCSL has decided to gather public views before reaching a final decision on the revision.
The Commission stated that the public can submit written comments and suggestions through email, WhatsApp, Facebook, or by post.
To collect verbal feedback, nine public consultation sessions will be held across all nine provinces, commencing today.
Written submissions for the third electricity tariff revision for 2025 will be accepted until 7 October.
