Chairman of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Lasantha Wickramasekara alias ‘Midigama Lasa’ was injured and hospitalised following a shooting incident that occurred a short while ago.
According to reports, two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorcycle. They opened fire while the Chairman was seated inside the Pradeshiya Sabha chamber.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
