Jaffna District MP Archchuna Ramanathan said Tamil people had asked him to convey to the country that they would stand with the Sinhala people for the nation whenever necessary.
He made the remarks while addressing a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) rally in Anuradhapura today (12).
Ramanathan said Mahinda Rajapaksa was the only name that came to his mind when Sinhala people were mentioned.
Using an animal analogy to criticize the country’s leadership, he said that while a lion or a tiger could rule a jungle, the people had made a fox king. He described this as a serious mistake, claiming that nothing similar had happened in the country’s 76-year history.
Ramanathan also alleged that the Tamil diaspora had spent substantial sums during the presidential election. Referring disparagingly to the President as the “coriander President,” he said he, too, had ultimately been deceived.
