Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera refuted allegations that one of his supporters verbally abused and threatened UPFA Matara District team leader Dallas Alahapperuma yesterday.

 

Speaking to the media, Samaraweera challenged Alahapperuma to name the responsible individual. He added that Alahapperuma had been threatened by a supporter of the UPFA, and not by a supporter of the UNP.

 

Samaraweera added that the false allegation against the UNP shows that the UPFA leaders have sensed and accepted defeat.

 

Dallas Alahapperuma complained that a supporter of Mangala Samaraweera threatened to kill him yesterday. The incident allegedly occurred when Alahapperuma was leaving the District Secretariat after handing over the nominations.
