Former Minister Mervyn Silva stated that the Mahinda Rajapaksa group has taken control of the SLFP by a conspiracy and those who control the party today denied him nominations.

 

Writing a letter to inform President Maithripala Sirisena of his decision to step down as Kelaniya SLFP Organizer, Silva alleged that SLFP is now in the grip of a 'Rajapaksa conspiracy' and the nomination lists were prepared after consultation with former Minister Basil Rajapaksa.

 

Silva said that he will actively engage in party work once again after the party is saved from the grip of the 'Rajapaksa conspiracy'.
