Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake said that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa played divisive politics and that he divided all major parties in the country.

Speaking at a press conference in the morning, he said that Rajapaksa's politics was now crystal clear. During the last few years he divided all major parties in the country and now has started dividing the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, he said.

A section of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party walked out and signed an agreement with the UNP, following the granting of nominations to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa under the UPFA ticket.
