The United People's Freedom Alliance is holding its inaugural election rally at Salgadu Ground in Anuradhapura this afternoon.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is expected to attend the rally.

The UPFA has launched its campaign under the theme 'Ratata pana demu - aluthen patan gamu' (Let's bring life to the country - Let's begin anew).

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was recently appointed as Chairman of UPFA Election Committee.
