Minister Duminda Dissanayake was the notable absentee of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's propaganda activities today.
Rajapaksa visited Sri Maha Bodhiya a short while ago along with other UPFA candidates contesting for the Anuradhapura District. Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva, SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha, Dilan Perera, S.M. Chandrasena, Prof. G.L. Peiris, Bandula Gunawardena, Tissa Karalliyadda, Pandu Bandaranaike and Shantha Soysa also attended the event.
Former President Rajapaksa and other SLFP seniors are scheduled to take part in the UPFA's inaugural rally in Anuradhapura this afternoon.
Informed SLFP sources told Asian Mirror that Dissanayake is unlike to take part in the Anuradhapura rally.
Dissanayake defected from the party and supported President Maithripala Sirisena's candidacy at the last Presidential election. However, he did not align himself with the United National Front for Good Governance for the Parliamentary election.
