Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa stated that the white-coloured van recently arrested with three suspects in Mirihana belonged to the now-defunct Tamil Tigers. 

 

Addressing an event on Tuesday (21) supporting UPFA candidate Udaya Gammanpila, he also claimed that the current leadership of Sri Lanka has given a low priority for security. 

 

Both he and former President Rajapaksa live in the Mirihana area, Gotabaya Rajapaksa pointed out.

 

Furthermore, Rajapaksa inquired as to why civil organisations are remaining silent on the matter. He asked from Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera and civil organizations as to why they were keeping silent on the matter.
