President Maithripala Sirisena has consented to convene the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Committee within the next few days.

 

This decision was taken when the General Secretary of SLFP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and the General Secretary of the UPFA Susil Premajayantha met with the President last night.

 

Meanwhile, the meeting is likely to discuss the possibility of taking disciplinary action against those who left to contest the election under the UNP ticket.

 

Meanwhile, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said yesterday that several SLFP ministers were seeking the Central Committee approval to resign from their ministerial posts.
