National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimar Weerawansa on Thursday (23) hit out at Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) leadership, saying that the party had became a property of UNP.

Addressing a media briefing called by UPFA, Weerawansa stated that the JVP did not talk about the sovereignty of the country during yesterday's special convention. JVP leader Anura Dissanayake has sold the party to Ranil Wickremasinghe, Weerawansa accused.

Furthermore he criticized the JVP special convention held on Wednesday (22) saying that although JVP spent Rs. 800,000 for telecasting the special convention through state media yesterday and the money did not come from the party.
