Minister Arjuna Ranatunga stated that he does not have any regret over his suspension from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

Speaking at a meeting in Mahara last evening, Ranatunga said that one has  to regret being a member of the SLFP these days. The party has once again been taken over by discredited characters, he added.

"If Susil Premajayantha and Anura Priyadarshana Yapa can sign nomination lists which have discredited candidates who are accused for drug smuggling, murder, casinos, rape and importing ethanol illegally, it is best that they throw me out of the party," Ranatunga said.

He also said that the SLFP does not believe in Bandaranaike policies today. "It has corrupt policies today", Ranatunga claimed.
