JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the party’s manifesto “Accord of Consciousness” was based on achieving economic justice.
Speaking to trade union representatives this morning, Dissanayake said that the top 20 percent of the society ruled the country for 67 years and added that they are pushing forward their interests. The lower levels of society can achieve their goals only by taking power, he added.
Dissanayake also said that without economic justice there cannot be a universal education system, a universal judicial system, a universal health system and a quality life for everyone. Therefore, economic justice is the key in achieving equality, he pointed out.
