Former UPFA MP Thilanga Sumathipala alleged that Minister Ravi Karunanayake is creating a violent environment in Colombo.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Sumathipala said that two underworld gang members, Army Sampath and Sanka, who returned after January 8 were present at the time of the incident on Friday. Sumathipala said that Army Sampath was arrested with firearms and ammunition the same afternoon.
Meanwhile, Karunanayake called police demanding the release of the people who were arrested, Sumathipala claimed.
He also said that Karunanayake’s gangs have to be investigated. He asked the Elections Commissioner to look into the matter and bring those responsible to justice.
