The election results already released from the Jaffna District shows a significant performance by the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi, through which the TNA contest the general elections.

 

The ITAK received two thirds of the postal votes in Jaffna District. It also received two thirds of the votes in Uduppidy Electorate.

 

Meanwhile, the ITAK polled 76.48 percent in Chavakachcheri Electorate and 77.44% in Kilinochchi Electorate.

 

Speaking to Asian Mirror recently M.A. Sumanthiran of TNA stated that the TNA was expecting to win all seven seats in Jaffna.
