The UNP led the postal votes in Anuradhapura District with a comfortable lead at the 2015 General Election.

The UNP received 20,842 votes (49.63%) and the UPFA polled 17,293 votes. The JVP polled 3443 votes.

In 2010, the UPFA swept the Anuradhapura postal votes. The UPFA won 28,0002 postal votes (73.52%) in 2010 from Anuradhapura while the UNP won only 7,224 postal votes.
