The United National Party won two seats in Trincomalee District, polling 83,638 votes (46.36%).

The Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi won one seat with 45,894 votes polled and the UPFA was able to win one seat with 38,463 votes polled.

The UNP led the Muttur electorate and the ITAK won the Trincomalee Electorate. The UPFA won the Seruwila Electorate.
