A number of trade unions will carry one with the planned strike on December 15 against the budget proposals, the co-convenor of a collective of government, semi-government and private sector trade unions Saman Rathnapriya told media.

This decision was taken after the crucial discussions with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe ended without agreement this evening.

Representatives of a number of trade unions met with the Prime Minister to discuss their grievances over the budget proposals.
